The warmest of welcomes awaits you at the Ulbster Arms Hotel. Built in 1878 from Caithness stone, this was once the home of the Sinclairs, an important family in Caithness history. It has been a comfortable retreat for fishing, corporate and holiday guests for over 100 years. With our traditional values and people-focused approach, our team provides a welcoming and consistent environment for all guests. We offer a choice of rooms at the Ulbster Arms Hotel in Caithness, Scotland. Our main hotel has 13 traditional ensuite bedrooms, many with views of the River Thurso or Halkirk Church and clock tower. Furthermore we have three buildings within the hotel grounds, which are available to book as a whole, or by individual room. Ulbster Lodge has three 3 ensuite bedrooms and a shared lounge space. Milton Lodge has 4 ensuite rooms and a shared lounge space. Dale Lodge is our largest lodge with 9 ensuite bedrooms. Finally, our Annexe is about 100 metres up the road. Having 7 modern ensuite rooms, you can book them individually, and have a shared living area.
All guests have access to facilities in the main hotel. This is where we serve breakfast each morning. Breakfast is included with all our room prices, along with tea/coffee-making facilities, complimentary toiletries and free Wi-Fi. Within the main building, there’s a cosy lounge, bar, library and à la carte restaurant. In addition, we have a spacious beer garden outside.
